With workshops covering the key changes and content, this conference is designed to empower educators with insights, strategies and resources to optimise the implementation of the latest syllabus. Held at the iconic Taronga Zoo on Monday August 26, teachers will explore the inspirational, educational experiences the zoo has to offer while unpacking the new syllabus.

Early Career Teachers Course
This NESA-Accredited (6.5 hours) online course has been specifically designed for teachers in their early years as a science teacher. The intensive course covers a range of interactive and engaging presentations from experienced practitioners to provide the tools and skills needed to survive and thrive in the early years of being a science educator.
Focusing on the development of sustainable, professional practice in early career 7-12 science teachers, the topics covered include:

Calling All Science Educators: Share Your Expertise and shape the future of Science Education!
We're seeking passionate classroom teachers and educators to submit workshop proposals for our upcoming science education conference. This is your chance to share your knowledge, experience, and innovative ideas with colleagues from across the region.
We're looking for workshops that address any of the following key areas and overarching themes:
- Innovative Teaching Strategies: Inspire your fellow educators with creative lesson plans, engaging activities, and effective ways to use technology in the classroom.
- Deep Dives into Complex Topics: Offer in-depth exploration of challenging science concepts, unpacking them for teachers of all experience levels.
- Supporting New & Early Career Teachers: Share practical guidance, best practices, and resources to help educators transitioning into new roles or subject areas.
- Assessment in Science: Provide valuable insights and strategies for effective assessment practices aligned with the senior science syllabus.
- Subject-Specific Sessions: Develop workshops focused on Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Science, Investigating Science, or Science Extension.
- Culturally Responsive Teaching: Explore ways to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and knowledge systems into science education.
Workshop proposals should:
- Clearly identify the target audience (experienced teachers, early career teachers, all teachers)
- Briefly describe the content and learning objectives of the workshop
- Outline the format and activities involved (presentations, discussions, hands-on activities)
